Can a modern Western white boy pick up a rattle and call himself a shaman, or is shamanism reserved for people with Native ancestry? Can we as modern people form a New Shamanism that taps directly into Spirit and truly enriches our lives?

What I find most lacking in modern religious ceremonies and even New Age spiritual practices is Direct Spiritual Experience. Most people have never had a real spiritual experience beyond the emotionality inherent in religious fellowship.
Here I explore the need for Direct Spiritual Experience in our lives and how we should be striving for direct and transcendent spiritual experiences.
We are the New Shamans
At this unique time in history, many of us feel a call to a new type of spirituality, one that is wholly personal and wholly experiential and real. We're tired of the old systems of dogmatic control, and we're tired of empty-headed pseudo-spiritual rhetoric. So where do we turn?
Many of us also feel a deep spiritual need to explore our ancestral roots but are completely lost when it comes to piecing together some type of pre-Christian shamanic tradition.
At NaeonA I explore all types of spirituality and practices with an emphasis on direct and transcendent spiritual experience. I strive to help people form their own spiritual framework and engage with Spirit in a deeply personal way that is rich, vibrant, and alive.
